Greater Revenue per Booking

The increase in tourism required an increase in a need for restaurants as well as hotels. Two major events will benefit the United Kingdom economy, including the 2011 royal wedding and the 2012 Olympics. The income from the royal wedding will bring money into the economy in time for the 2012 Olympics. The royal wedding created an extremely high Revenue per booking the weekend of the royal wedding. It hit triple digits because of the demand to see the even first-hand. The money spent in relationship to the Royal Wedding also has set a bar for the English economy to bring back into the economy. They had to budget for this wedding and with money as tight as it was, it was very hard to not go over the limit. The Christian Science Monitor reports the cost of the wedding to be approximately $65 million, including $35 million for public services, security, police, and cleanup, and $20 million for most everything else, from rehearsals to stag parties, food, and drink, to the honeymoon.
